The three robbers

The animated film adaptation of Tomi Ungerer’s classic picture book “The Three Robbers” (over 500,000 copies sold) is a wonderful blend of fantasy, poetry, disarming charm – and just the right amount of childlike cheekiness and anarchy.

Animated in the style of the ingenious cartoonist and illustrator Tomi Ungerer (“The Great Songbook”), the film (directed by Hayo Freitag; “Käpt’n Blaubär”) artfully continues the story of Tiffany and the three robbers. The new, exciting adventures are told with a lot of tongue-in-cheek humor without, of course, diluting the message of the book, which could be: Robbers are the better people! Or: Cheekiness wins!
